1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the setlr app or website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use setlr. These terms apply to all users including lenders, borrowers, and visitors.

2. What setlr Is

setlr is a personal financial record-keeping tool. It helps you log, track, and manage informal loans and financial obligations between people you know. setlr is not a bank, lender, payment processor, or financial institution. setlr does not facilitate actual money transfers. Loan certificates and confirmations are personal records only and are not legally binding financial instruments or promissory notes.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use setlr. By using setlr you confirm you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into agreements in your country. setlr is available worldwide but is not responsible for compliance with local financial regulations wherever you are.

4. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your account secure. Your account is tied to your phone number so keep it safe. You are responsible for all activity on your account. You must not create accounts for others without their consent. You must not use setlr to harass, defraud, or create false records against anyone.

5. Loan Records

Loan records you create are your personal records. setlr does not verify the accuracy of amounts, dates, or terms you enter. Both parties are responsible for agreeing on loan terms before logging them. setlr confirmation is a record of acknowledgment only and does not constitute a legally binding loan agreement. Do not rely solely on setlr records for legal or financial disputes.

6. Trust Score

Your Trust Score is based on your repayment activity within setlr only. It does not reflect your credit history, bank records, or financial behaviour outside the app. setlr Trust Scores are not credit scores and should not be treated as such. setlr is not a credit bureau and does not report to any credit agency.

7. Prohibited Use

You may not log fraudulent or fabricated loans against other people. You may not use setlr to harass or intimidate anyone. You may not attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or exploit the platform. You may not use setlr for money laundering, illegal lending, or any activity prohibited by law. Violations will result in immediate account termination.

8. Imported Data

When you import bank statements, PDFs, or images, you confirm you have the right to share that data. Imported documents are processed by AI to extract financial data and deleted within 24 hours. setlr is not responsible for errors in AI-extracted data so always verify what was imported.

9. Disclaimers

setlr is provided as is without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee 100% uptime or data accuracy. setlr is a personal record-keeping tool and is not a substitute for legal or financial advice. For significant loans, always consult a professional.

10. Limitation of Liability

setlr and Setlr Technologies are not liable for disputes between users, financial losses, or damages arising from use of the platform. Our total liability to you will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, which for free users is zero.

11. Account Deletion

You can delete your account anytime from Profile > Settings > Delete Account. Your personal profile data is removed promptly. Loan records involving other parties may be kept in anonymised form to preserve shared record integrity.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms when needed. We will let you know about significant changes via push notification. Continuing to use setlr after changes means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes fall under the jurisdiction of courts in Mumbai, India. Local consumer protection laws may also apply for international users.
